SENIOR PASTOR

Rev. Ian Jones

Ian and Robyn have been married for 30 years and have seven children. In addition to these incredible blessings, Ian is thankful for many and varied experiences over the years that have helped to define and shape his perspective on life and ministry.

After almost twelve years as a school teacher, Ian became one of the very few "full-time" cartoonists in Australia for quite a number of years. His cartoon strip "Pearly Gates" has appeared in papers throughout Australia and some overseas markets over a period of about 20 years. Creativity continues to be an important part of Ian's life and ministry.

As a result of his strong belief in, and commitment to, the ministry of the local church, Ian became a Baptist Pastor in 1991 and has pastored churches in Nanango and Bundaberg before commencing ministry at South Bank Baptist Church in April of 2005.

Ian has traveled extensively and ministered in many countries, with a particular interest and involvement in Ukraine and other former Soviet countries. He is even trying to master the Russian language at the moment!

Ian loves travelling, photography, art, music and is also very excited about developing the new ministry direction and future for the church.
