There are often some special things that happen within the life and ministry of an active church.

If you would like to check back with this page from time to time we will try and keep you up to date with the various events and special happenings here at South Bank Baptist Church.

"BRIDGES" ISM Activity - 08/06/2008
This Friday evening our "BRIDGES" ISM group will be having an exciting time at LAZERFORCE!.....Meeting at the church at 7pm (as normal), then heading off to the LazerForce Centre at Woolloongabba shortly after.

STATE OF ORIGIN #2 - 08/06/2008
This Wednesday evening we will be screening the "live" telecast of the second State of Origin football game at the church. Normally the Wednesday evening is our weekly Conversational English class but this week we will be introducing our international students to the wider "sporting culture" of our state. However, this telecast is not just for our English students, it is for everyone and there will be many people of all ages and stages in attendance....cheering the mighty Maroons (and even a few urging on the Blues, too). Supper will be provided, though you are certainly encouraged to bring something to add to this. You are very welcome to attend...Wednesday, June 11th at 7.30pm at the church (218 Vulture Street, South Brisbane).

CHRISTMAS DAY SERVICE - 23/12/2007
We will be celebrating the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Christmas Day (December 25th) at 9am! This service will be a special time for all the family and anyone (and everyone!) is warmly invited to attend.

"BRIDGES" ISM HOLIDAY - 23/12/2007
"BRIDGES" is our International Student Ministry (and it includes international workers, too!). We normally meet on Friday evenings. However, we will have a break for a couple of weeks over the Christmas/new year period. Our BRIDGES group will meet again on FRIDAY, 11th JANUARY, 2008 at the church at 7pm. Anyone from overseas is welcome to come along and be a part of this exciting group.

CONVERSATIONAL ENGLISH CLASS BREAK - 23/12/2007

We have enjoyed an incredibly exciting year, helping people from many countries, including: China, Japan, Switzerland, Taiwan, Korea, France, Brazil, Iran, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Czech Republic, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Germany and Afghanistan, learn to speak and understand the English language a little better. We will be resuming these fun and effective classes on WEDNESDAY, 30th JANUARY at 7pm....at the church (218 Vulture Street). Everyone is welcome!
