About SBBC
How do you describe a Church?
A church is its people and they are constantly changing, and growing. But perhaps it can also be described as the combined vision and mind that joins them together in fellowship, in worship and in service.
"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God….that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light." (1 Peter 2:9)
This verse speaks of two things….
- Who and Whose we are, and
- What we, as God's people, are to be doing.
Simply put, we are God's people by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ. And, then because this reality is so exciting and life-changing, we are called and commissioned to share this Good News with others.
Our church vision and mission can be summed up in our simple slogan:
Building Bridges….Across the City….Across the World
Our vision is to be a church that builds bridges! Not of steel and cables, but of hope, compassion, love and service….to people in our immediate vicinity and, through our International Student Ministry, to people around the world.
Our church may be on the small size, but our vision is God-sized!
